IF-refrain-UPDATE

Yup....no restraint. I worked backwards on this one....I did the color before the linework. Not sure of the results yet, but it loosened my color work up, which is what I wanted.

A few new sketches that I'm going to have to refrain from finishing until some client work is taken care of.

I am the queen of instant gratification....I have no self-control or restraint....chances are they'll be worked on sooner rather than later. <grin>

    1. Thank you! Fluid is what I'm aiming for...I've been working on trimming and trimming the lines down so that less does more. So happy you swung by!

  3. Lovely colors! I love the energy in the finished looser lines, through I love the tighter drawings below as well! :D Enchanting all around.

    1. Thanks Joyce. I used to go straight into color over the top of the tighter drawings, but they never looked finished. Inking is what I love....if I could just ink everything and never go to final color, I'd be a happy girl!

  4. Loving the complete scene - I feel as if I'm in the room with them! And the others are great as well - particularly liking the authentic dress of the little the girl with the crane.

  5. Thank you guys so much! There is nothing better than popping online and finding comments.

The finished color work on this one is completely different for me....I did the color before the linework and then laid the linework over the top....my color work was really in a rut and tightening up...I wasn't enjoying it at all...super laboured...which I hated. Plus, the color work wasn't standing on it's own...which, again, I hate.....so far so good with this way of working....we'll see if it is repeatable! Thanks again!
